History

Robin Hughes, Owen Rees and Kelvyn Sara established Hughes Rees Sara Construction Ltd in the late 1980’s Over this time the company has developed and some years ago introduced two new shareholders and directors Andrew Marshall and Richard Gibb. This move strengthened the company’s management resources and provided a long term growth path for what is known as HRS Construction Ltd.

During the years of trading as a commercial construction company we have completed numerous projects with values up to $17 million throughout the South Island.
As a management driven company operating from a low overhead base and therefore can offer a very competitive market performance while still producing a quality product.

The company’s key objectives for each project are:

  • Meeting our client’s requirements by completing their project on time and on budget.
  • Employing motivated staff and providing them with the opportunities to further their skill base.
  • Having quality assurance and management systems that can measure product consistency and financial performance.
  • Complying with all health & safety and environmental legislation.
  • Adopting an honest and fair approach to all dealings and relationships.

In order to achieve the above objectives our company is controlled on a day to day basis by its senior management team of, Andrew Marshall, Richard Gibb and Owen Rees. Every project comes under the direct control of a Company Director who is ultimately responsible for the setting up of the contract, administration, attending site meetings, discussing and agreeing methodology and resources required with the contract Foreman or Site Manager.
